Notes for Howard Stanley Tewsley
Howard was one of my sources of information and encouragement. I was very saddened to hear of his and Lois's passing, Norma's and even more so of Peter's. We all met in 1988 at an 80th birthday for Norma Jean held at her son, John Tewsley's house in Peterborough. It was a wonderful gathering if a little overwhelming for us. We were not in the habit of having that many Tewsley's under one roof at one time. But again we had a great time and a few wonderful pictures as a rememberance. We will have to get everyone identified. This kind of gathering is rare and deserving of rememberance.

Howard mentioned a few times that Arthur (his father) was the black sheep of the family, but I have never been able to pin down an exact reason - not that there needs to be. It is a shame though when family's hold a grudge over a long time. I hope this Family history will restore some of the harmony if not all.

Hand weaving from The Weaver's House in Manotick is so much in demand that Helen, Kay and Ellie have added to their group. This charming old house at 11 Mill St. has other lovely things, such as Howard Tewsley's pine display cupboards for miniatures and frames for mirrors and pictures.....a gifted photographer his framed colour prints of Mantotick Mill have the look of Constable landscapes.

From Famiy History Letter - Marjorie Henderson - has Howard born on 16 Dec 1911.
Notes for Lois Mary (Spouse 1)
TEWSLEY, Lois Mary (nee Bayly) July 11, 1914 - Aug 13, 2011. Peacefully and surrounded by family, Lois Tewsley passed away on August 13, 2011. Interment was a private family affair at Capital Memorial Gardens - August 16, 2011. Lois graduated as an RN from the Montreal General Hospital at the age of 23 and became a nursing sister serving during the Second World War in England, Belgium, Holland and France. Lois met her husband Howard overseas and they married in England. Upon their return they built and lived in their home in the River Road for many years. Lois, affectionately as GG - Great Grandmother, was pre-deceased by husband, Howard and son, Peter. GG was devoted to her family and will be missed by her daughter Patti and husband Earle Maguire, son Paul and his wife, Betty, daughter-in-law, Denise Tewsley, grand-children Blake - wife Nina Maguire, Tanya, Matthew, Luke, Craig, Martin, Victoria - husband Judd Owens and great-grandchildren Cameron, Christian, Alice and Ella. Lois was a volunteer for St. John's Ambulance, The Canadian Red Cross, and will be fondly remembered as a founding member of the Manotick Curling CLub and an original volunteer at the Miller's Oven Manotick. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. L. Kroniak and Reverend Stuart Hewlet.
